Storyboards are hand-drawn or digitally-generated artwork used by directors to previsualize their projects. This saves time and money later on and, more importantly, helps refine story ideas. Storyboards can illustrate an entire movie, or sometimes only the complicated or expensive sequences. Animation directors sometimes use storyboards to map out the progression of colour to support a film's story. A storyboarded project usually exhibits visual confidence one it reaches it's final form. |

| Here are storyboard panels I created for three different projects. The first is a standard commercial format for television. The second is for a CG-animated short called "Roadkill" (YouTube / PDF), and the third is for an unproduced computer graphic animation called "Crystal" (YouTube / PDF). For a really close look at storyboards, download this PDF file, which is printable (and viewable to 800%.) | |||||
