I discovered a Japanese animated film (anime) that had a very similar look to my storyboards for “Project 3” (posted online here in 1998): that is, using image processing filters on top of 2D art. This anime, “Blood: The last vampire”, was released by a (now defunct) company called Manga Entertainment on home video in August 2001.

In June 2000, I won an autographed poster from Manga Entertainment for Satoshi Kon's anime "Perfect Blue". It arrived damaged, requiring a replacement, and I probably had my (then newish) website in my emails back-and-forth to Manga. There was just over a month of a production window between my emails and the premiere of "Blood: the last vampire" in July, 2000, so maybe I'm wrong and it's just collective artistic consciousness between myself and Production I.G. (the studio which produced the anime). If my storyboards were somehow seen here and aped, as the saying goes, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery..."
